tree - first efforts by keyla-etc tree - first efforts by keyla-etc
Apologies for the bad picture. I'll upload another one later...

This is all the fault of *magpie-poet - granted, I thought it was a wonderful idea, but still... now I'm making all these lists of beads that would work well as "leaves" and "blossoms".

But we'll see today just how practical roots really are on wearable jewelry...

i'm digging the leaves, the blossoms need some color though ;)

Well, later incarnations will have brighter blossoms (and perhaps even "berries" or "fruit" depending what direction I want to go). I was a bit annoyed when Jeff's first comment was "Did some of the beads fall off or something? That doesn't look like the others." (I need a "slap upside the head" emoticon.)

I love Bonsai and this reminds me very much of the wiring that is done to shape the miniature trees. [link] Maybe looking at some types of bonsai will give you even more ideas!

Interesting work. I am looking forward to seeing more.

Checked the link and I especially liked the second one (perhaps because I have many, many pine trees at my house, all of which could stand to be reduced to bonsai size). I'll have to work on getting that effect!

Lovely! I think the small dangle is just such a neat little detail!

It was one of those "is this going to work, or is it going to just look totally random" things. But I felt like the roots needed something a little... well, more!
